Increasing the availability and accessibility of affordable housing remains Mayor Roth’s top priority. In June 2022, the Council passed, and Mayor Roth signed Ordinance 22-77, which appropriates at least $5,000,000 per year for the Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) to facilitate programs that support affordable housing production.

Fiscal Year 2024-25

Request for Proposals (RFP)

The OHCD received a total of 13 proposals, requesting approximately $48 million in funding. Four projects have been selected for award, and OHCD will present these to the Finance Committee and County Council.

Amendments to the AHP Administrative Rules

The Amended AHP Administrative Rules which provide the framework for administering the AHP Program has been adopted following a 30-day public comment period and public hearing. These amended rules became effective on April 7, 2024. For more information on the amendments, see the OHCD Newsletter.
