County To Award Over $13 Million To Boost Affordable Housing
The County of Hawaiʻi announced today it is awarding over $13.2 million in Affordable Housing Production (AHP) Program funds to four projects across Hawaiʻi Island that will support, increase, and sustain the availability and accessibility of affordable housing.
Community Celebrates Completion of Kauhale I Ke Kula Uka
A dedication ceremony was held Thursday, October 24, 2024, marking the completion of Kauhale I Ke Kula Uka, a new affordable family rental community in Kailua-Kona. Kauhale I Ke Kula Uka features 99 units, including 58 3-bedroom units and 41 2-bedroom units, for households earning up to 60% of area median income (AMI), in addition to a manager’s unit.
Groundbreaking Held for Nā Hale Makoa Affordable Workforce Housing in Waikoloa Village
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Tuesday, September 24, 2024, for Nā Hale Makoa, a new affordable workforce rental housing development in Waikoloa Village. Nā Hale Makoa will feature 139 one-, two- and three-bedroom units serving households earning up to 140% of Area Median Income (AMI), as well as one resident manager’s unit. Each unit will be critical in helping Hawaiʻi solve its ongoing affordable housing crisis.
County of Hawai‘i Opens $10.5 Million Grant Opportunity for Homelessness and Housing Initiatives
